Beluga Whale
The white beluga whale lives in the artic ocean. Their color helps
them to blend in with their surroundings. Interestingly, the young
are no so well protected. They are a light bluish color and do not
turn white until they are about five years old. The Beluga whale is
often called the "Sea Canary" because it makes a chirping noise.
They dive deep into the ocean, sometimes over 1,000 feet down, where they
dine on squid, worms, crams, shrimp, clams and fish. |

Killer Whale
Considered by many to the most beautiful of all the whales, captive
specimens have been trained to perform and they are a favorite at marine
parks. Often photographed snuggling up to the handler, it appear to
be a very gentle creature. This is not the case. It was named
the "Killer Whale" by sailors who often watched them attack other marine
life. It can swim very fast - up to 30 miles per hour - and can
chase down anything. It can leap and turn quickly. It has 50
very-sharp, cone-shaped teeth and is absolutely fearless. It
will attack anything. Killer Whales often hunt in packs and will
attack seals, porpoises, manatees, turtles and even the largest whale.

Humpback Whale
the Humpback loves to eat fish and is a great fisherman. He
has developed special fishing techniques. Sometimes he herds a school fish
into a tight group then swims into it, mouth open, scooping up all he can.
Even more fascinating, is his "bubble-net" trick. The Humpback whale
swims under a school of fish, then blows air from his blowhole, creating
bubbles. They rise forming a "net" that surrounds the fish.
They are confused and don't know what to do, but the Humpback whale does.
He's swims inside the net and scoops the fish up in his large mouth.

Sperm Whale
The are among the largest creatures on earth. It has 24 to 30 cone
shaped teeth on each side of the lower jaw that grow up to seven
inches long and weight as much as two pounds. They dive deep and eat
big stuff. They have been found with deep sea sharks in their
stomach. During the 1800's, the Sperm whale was extensively hunted
for its blubber which was use to fuel oil lamps. Inside its head is
the very fine spermaceti oil, which was used to lubricate watches.
The legendary white Sperm Whale "Moby Dick" was reportedly based on a real
whale. Their only enemy is the giant squid. Replica available

Narwhal
The Narwhal has two teeth. For some strange reason, one of the teeth
on the male will grow to ten feet long. It appears to stick out of
his head, like a spear. It was this peculiar characteristic that led
to it being called the "Unicorn Fish." Science now knows that it is a
member of the whale family. They believe the huge tooth is used to
attract females. There is evidence that the Narwhal uses it to joust
with other male Narwhals. A fascinating animal Size.9" long. Scale
