White Tiger Adult |
Siberian Tiger
One of the most threatened of all the cat species, the Siberian Tiger is
also the largest. Males may reach 12 feet in length and up to 700 lbs in
weight. This is also the only tiger that's habitat is below freezing. It
is estimated that there are only 500 individuals remaining in the wild, a
number which may be to low to sustain the species genetic viability.
White Tiger
White tigers are actually Bengal Tigers that carry an unusual gene that
determines their coat's color. Solitary in nature, they hunt mostly at
night. Unfortunately, no known white tigers exist in the wild, The
only ones thought left are found in captivity. They have become big
circus attractions
Bengal Tiger
The endangered Bengal tiger faces an unknown future in its habitat of
Asia. This large cat has been hunted for many years as poachers are able
to sell some its body parts for profit. While conservational steps have
been implemented, inbreeding and continued hunting threaten it's survival.
