Animal Specimens
Specimens have long provided a great way to learn about and enjoy the Animal World.  The great naturalists, Hooke, Darwin, Audubon, and others collected specimens for their own collections and for museums.  Some of the world's best are in the United States.  These include the Smithsonian National Museum in Washington, D.C., the American Museum of Natural History in New York, the Carnegie Natural History Museum in Pittsburg, Pa.  and the Natural History Museum of Los Angeles.
Individual cannot hope to duplicate such collections, but can build excellent collections.  Not only are they educational, but they are also a great addition to any decor.   Natural Specimens can be greatly enhanced through the use of miniatures, such as those in or Gift & Decor Department
