How Heat Flows Lab Kit
Gain an understanding of heat and heat transfer through this series of
hands-on activities. Measure thermal conductivity and thermal expansion of
various metals; explore the methods of heat transfer including conduction,
convection and radiation; and determine the specific heat of various
substances. Using the included calorimeter, you will determine the heat of
fusion of ice. You will also observe a demonstration of heat
transfer using a radiometer and investigate heat and phase changes of
matter. Apply this knowledge to identify substance that conduct heat
effectively, known as conductors, and those that do not, termed
