Inertia Balance Kit
Used to measure inertial masses and qualitatively under understand the
terms: mass and weight. This principle can be used to determine mass under
weightless conditions in space flight. The apparatus consist of two
aluminum trays joined together by a pair of spring steel strips attached
to their sides. Trays are about 200m apart. One of the trays
(the oscillating tray) is drilled to hold three equal cylindrical masses.
The other tray acts as an anchorage and is clamped by A C-clamp to a
bench. supplied with three m asses and a cord. (C-clamp
not supplied)

Vertical Acceleration Demo
To show that a body launched horizontally will fall vertically at the same
rate as a similar free falling body. Consist of a push button activated
spring loaded launcher that launches two balls. When the button is
pushed, both balls are simultaneously launched, one is shot out to the
side and the other is simply pushed off the mechanism. Also used to
demonstrate the effect of launching balls made of different materials.
Will a lead ball drop as fast as one made of aluminum? (Ball
Masses not included)

Friction Block and Surface
For introducing the concept that friction depends on the nature and
smoothness of materials. The kits consists of three wooden blocks
(100 x 75mm) one with a mirror surface on one side, the second with a
sandpaper surface and the third with a plane surface. There is a
hook on one end of all three blocks. Force may be measured with a Spring Scale (not included). Includes
a mirror about 355 x75mm.
No. SF520-FB. Only $14.75 |

Ring & Disk Set
Used for studying the dependence of moment on inertia on the distribution
of mass, by rolling down a metal ring and wooden disk of the same mass and
diameter on an incline plane or rolling them on a level surface with the
same initial impulse. The difference in acceleration can be studied.
Both rings have a diameter of 15cm, and are 5cm wide.
No. SF520-RD. Only $21.50 |

Air Track
& Accessories
Designed for experiments in lineal motion. This unit is constructed
of high quality aluminum alloy that has the advantage of being light
weight and highly durable Precision machining provides a
smooth surface and high linearity. Comes with a complete accessory
package for experiments in linear motion. This unit requires an air
source and a timer with photogates. Comes with instructional manual.
No. SF520-AT. Only $379.95 |
