Invention of Flight Balloon
The hot air balloon Montgolfer flew over the French countryside in 1783, carrying
aloft two men - the first humans to ever fly. This kit was Developed in connection with
scientists, curators, and educators from the Smithsonian Institute, where a replica is on
display. This is one of the most fun kits we've ever offered. The balloon is
huge and it really flies. Making it takes only a couple of hours, and the end result is a
five foot tall aerstatat that will soar far overhead on a cool day. A couple of
family hair dryers or a popcorn popper provide the heat need for lift off. Caution:
Your model Montgolfer can stay up a very long time and the wind can carry it some
distance, so fly it where you can see for a long distance. We also recommend the
